Sotogrande approx. 1 hour from Malaga’s international airport and 20 minutes from Estapona, Sotogrande lies at the southern tip of what is considered to be the Costa del Sol.
Is a luxury location set around a wonderful marina with it’s bars and fine restaurants at the waters edge.
Sotogrande is becoming increasingly popular as a relocation destination for Brits and Golfer’s on holiday alike, with the close proximity of the world renowned Valderrama and Sotogrande Golf courses, when on curtain weeks of the year one can see the world elite playing such as Tiger Woods, Ernie Ells and of course one of Spain’s sporting hero’s Seve Ballousteros.
The marina originally built in 1987 with 548 berths, all with facilities you would expect from a first class yachting harbour, namely, electrical points, fresh water, telephone, and even television points for each berth.
Phase two of the marina is under construction which will when compl eted have berths for over 1100 boats, very impressive indeed.
Other sporting activities in the area include the internationally know Mark Philip’s Polo Club, not of course everybody’s cup of tea but a fine spectacle on a sunny, lazy afternoon.
Sotogrande is undergoing constant improvement and development, with new Golf courses, sporting facilities springing up all over the place, but now high rise blocks here though.
All of which are helping Sotogrande become one of Costa del Sol’s finest and important leisure area’s.
